Who Did You Help Today? was established in 2015 to create connections and encapsulate the idea that while working alone might result in survival, working together can generate positive change and take people beyond survival and into prosperity.

Stacey Shortall

Raised on a farm in Colyton in the Manawatu, Stacey is a former Wall Street lawyer with volunteer experience in New Zealand, New York and Ghana.  A litigation partner at the Minter Ellison Rudd Watts law firm, a passionate advocate for the wellbeing of women and children, and a mother of four, Stacey is the founding trustee of the Who Did You Help Today charitable trust.

Stacey has received awards for her community-based work in New Zealand and New York.  She also is the founder of Our Words Matter which is an online forum for sharing ideas to solve the issues that affect New Zealand.  In 2019 and 2020, Stacey was named as a semi-finalist for the Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year Award.

Rachelle Sutton

Based in her home town of Auckland, Rachelle is currently a Sales and Marketing Director of The Hunting Lodge, Winery and Manufacturing facility in West Auckland. Rachelle has built a career at the forefront of growing successful New Zealand businesses, with a particular focus on leadership in sales and marketing, manufacturing and new product development.

 

With a strong belief in the value of communities, Rachelle brings her strong passion for action to WHO DID YOU HELP TODAY™. Rachelle is also a mother of two young children.

Sarah Paterson

Sarah’s early career was with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in the legal, human rights and trade areas, including a diplomatic posting to the New Zealand Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York and working on New Zealand’s trade dispute cases in the WTO. As she developed an interest in promoting agricultural trade, Sarah became the Trade Policy Manager for Meat & Wool New Zealand, and then the European Trade Policy Manager for Fonterra based in Amsterdam for four years. On return to New Zealand, Sarah led Fonterra’s Trade Strategy team globally, then became Director of the Group’s Policy and Advocacy team which included acting for an extended period as Fonterra’s Group Director for Cooperative Affairs to manage the farmer and stakeholder facing parts of the business.

Sarah is a Member of the New Zealand Meat Board and New Zealand Army Leadership Board. From 2015-18 Sarah was a member of the Government’s Public Advisory Committee on Disarmament and Arms Control. She is also a Trustee of Kiwi Kids Music Trust. 

Jo Turner

Jo Turner joined the Who Did You Help Today trust in 2018 as Trust Manager.  Jo has a varied background including time spent working in the education, hospitality and corporate sectors. 

 

Jo is passionate about volunteering and has held volunteer roles in a number of organisations over the past 20 years.  She currently volunteers for Bellyful as well as coaches her children's sports teams and is the Fair Convenor for her children's annual primary school fair.
